Grapat is a Spanish family run business created by Casiana and Jordi after observing and being inspired by their first child's play. Grapat means “a handful” in Catalan, the native language of their land, and this is exactly where the simple idea behind their humble project came from: to carry a handful of loose pieces with the utmost care in their hands and offer them with the same love to the hands of children.
Grapat’s motto is “be free, play open!” They offer handcrafted toys made for life, without instructions nor limits. Slow crafted respecting tradition and nature, wood is their element. It is warm, soft but robust and in the hand the soft forms inspire, and the textures soothe. The “imperfectness” of the wood makes each piece unique – just like humans!
