Based on the theory of loose parts by Simon Nicholson in 1971, these wooden rings are designed to encourage rich play experiences that are unstructured and open-ended. Grapat is a Spanish family run business created by Casiana and Jordi after observing and being inspired by their first child's play. Grapat means “a handful” in Catalan, the native language of their land, and this is exactly where the simple idea behind their humble project came from: to carry a handful of loose pieces with the utmost care in their hands and offer them with the same love to the hands of children.
